Me voilà de retour à Bruxelles et prête à réattaquer les joies de sa vie culturelle et festive. Enfin “prête”, je ne suis pas certaine…. Je ne vais pas te cacher qu’un bout de mon coeur étant resté sur une montagne catalane, je me surprends à rêver d’une autre vie. C’est assez inédit comme sentiment, car il est rare que j’ai du mal à revenir, en gardant et rangeant les bons souvenirs. Il me faudra quelques fêtes bruxelloises pour atterrir, avant de repartir. Je ronge mon frein pour ne pas reprendre la route dès ce mois de décembre, mais je crois que je vais être raisonnable et attendre le printemps…

Note que j’ai écrit “je crois”.. je me laisse l’option de foirer cette tentative et pas plus tard qu’hier je me suis entendu répondre très sérieusement à une proposition de réunion le 4 janvier que je n’en serai pas….

Mais avant d’organiser une retraite dans la montagne, reprenons le fil de ce blog… Je vais te parler de ce que j’ai envie de faire cette semaine.

Note déjà qu’aucune de ces propositions ne contient de lien direct vers la page de l’évènement. Parce que ça me prend la tête (et plein de temps) de te faciliter la vie en incluant les hyperliens, alors que les événements en question et quelques autres se retrouvent tous sur le calendrier que je mets à jour même quand je ne t’écris pas.

Donc, avant, tu faisais un click.
Je suis consciente que maintenant, ce sera un click + un scroll + un click.
C’est dur et cher, la vie. Mais j’ai fait le compte de mes économies et je suis prête à ce que tu payes ce prix pour me libérer des bien plus nombreuses manipulations que je faisais pour t’éviter la deuxième partie de cette formule mathématique.

Tu peux te plaindre de mon égoïsme. Je te rétorquerai que de mon point de vue, je me libère du joug du lecteur paresseux.

Mercredi 30/11
Inauguration oeuvre de Derm @ Le M.U.R
Depuis l’été, tu peux découvrir chaque mois une nouvelle oeuvre d’un street artiste, sur un mur de façade de l’ancien supermarché GB, au centre-ville. L’initiative, l’asbl Costik (et donc infatigable et enthousiaste Noémie Tant), sur base d’un concept déjà existant dans plusieurs villes de France, rencontre un certain succès auprès des voisins, nombreux passants et la petite planète street art locale. C’est franchement cool !
Et pour fêter le nouveau mur, déjà la cinquième fresque, inauguration à 16 heures, ce mercredi, en présence de l’artiste. Ce mois-ci, c’est Derm qui est aux commandes. Un artiste belge, avec une renommée internationale et qui fait également de l’illustration.

Après l’inauguration, le cœur balance :

Projection de courts métrages “Travail en cours” et visite du Musée du Capitalisme
Option 1 : filer vers Laeken pour les projections de courts métrages au Musée du Capitalisme ?

Le Musée est en cours jusqu’au 17 décembre. Si tu as manqué de le visiter depuis qu’il y est où lors de ses précédentes éditions (à Namur, Saint-Gilles,…), il est temps de te bouger et d’aller voir de quoi il retourne. Il a le grand avantage de tenter une explication du système dans lequel nous vivons… Et ce alors qu’on parle bien souvent du concept sans forcément le comprendre. Comme tout musée qui se respecte, sa mission est de nous éduquer à ce propos !

Ce mercredi, il y a trois courts métrages en plus ! Moi, ça me donne envie… en plus, il y en a un qui parle d’agenda :

“Chatomancies & Table d’hôtes @ La Communa Creation
Option 2 : se rendre à la Communa Creation qui a ouvert ses portes durant mon absence (ils osent, quand même !). Un lieu qui réunit des artistes et cela donne donc une belle impulsion lors des habituelles tables d’hôtes du mercredi. Cette semaine, on peut y découvrir une performance de Giulia Juliette Ledda, intitulée “Chatomancies”, et juste avant un concert improvisé par Mattia, Corentier de Sieter et Stefano Rocco.

Et en vrai, tu sais quoi ? Ce mercredi je ne fais même pas tout ça… pffff! Si je continue à ne pas suivre mes propres suggestions, je vais finir par penser que ma personnalité en ligne est très loin de ma vraie vie… Mais bon, rassure-toi, je fais quand même une sortie culturelle et festive mais c’est à Bozar, un lieu pas alternatif et en plus je suis sur la guest list… (ok, là je viens de me griller grave).

Jeudi 1/12
“Laboratoire de recherche et d’expérimentation sur les curiosités érotiques” de Olga Mathey @ Cinéma Nova
Le cinéma Nova accueille une exposition de curiosités érotiques. Ce jeudi, c’est vernissage festif : ce qui veut dire qu’en plus de découvrir le travail de l’artiste Olga Mathey, il y a des concerts ! Ça a l’air déjanté et décalé. Et puis c’est au Nova, donc sûrement que c’est bien, non ? Et puis, il y a le mot érotique dans le titre. Alors d’office c’est excitant, avoue…

Vendredi 2/12
P I L O O T Cassette Release Party @ La Bibliothèque des Corpus
Bon, il y a ce lieu qui vient d’ouvrir. C’est une bibliothèque, mais c’est forcément un peu plus complexe que cela. Donc forcément ça attise ma curiosité.

Il y a un agenda d’activité sur leur site. Et en plus de l’agenda il y a ce vendredi une petite fête musicale. Et samedi aussi, même lieu, même heure, autres artistes.

Vendredi concert de Piloot avec aussi Rastrejo, Sébastien Biset, Prairie et Antoine Boute.
Samedi, c’est David Chazam, Frédérique Franke et Rita Braga et ses chants d’oiseaux galactiques (s’te plaît, ne me demande pas d’expliquer, j’ai aucune idée de ce à quoi tout ça resemble: l’idée de base de ce blog c’est de nous envoyer tous à la découverte de lieux et d’évènements parfois étranges, incompréhensibles, et avec un peu de chances amusants et excitants).

Perso, je passerai (vraiment de vrai de vrai, dans ma vraie vie qui entre enfin en symbiose avec ma vie en ligne) vendredi soir, car je veux découvrir le lieu, la musique et je serai d’office dans le quartier pour la soirée Glüton, dans le même quartier !

Soirée Glüton #1 @ rue d’Artois, 44
Première édition d’une soirée à découvrir donc au centre ville, ce vendredi soir. Il y a deux salles et au programme un concert du groupe Glü (à l’initiative de la soirée, d’où le nom), purée ça fait hyper longtemps que je les ai pas entendu et le plaisir à l’idée de les revoir me ferait presque oublier ma nostalgie catalane… Glü, quoi.. merci les gars.

Et comme un plaisir ne vient jamais seul, il y a aussi le très cool, l’inégalable, que dis-je, le génialissime Dj soFa. Je suis sûre qu’il a du faire de nouvelles émules pas plus tard que dimanche dernier lors de la Disco Kids. Voilà, à cause ou grâce à lui, une nouvelle génération biberonnée dès leur première boum à de l’excellente musique. Moi, je te dis : si t’es un des parents qui a amené ton gamin à cette fête, il y a pas grand chose que ton gosse pourra vomir à ton propos sur le canapé d’un psy dans 15 ou 25 ans… Où s’il le fait tout sera à tout jamais rééquilibré.

Bon, il y a quelques autres noms que je ne connais pas, mais je t’assure, je ne demande qu’à les connaître. Surtout que Frigolity me prend en Schmett avec son “Emotional Hip-Hop Experience”. Non, mais comment c’est bon dieu possible de résister à une parenthèse pareille dans un line-up ?

Supafly Collective invites Dj Kisa @ Beursschouwburg
Du coup, je suis désolée, mais je crains qu’à cause de la Glütonnerie, je vais pas pouvoir passer au Beurs voir les fille du Supafly Collective. Enfin, je dis ça, mais si ça se trouve, je passerai juste en passant. Tu me suis ? Non, je te demande pas de me suivre dans ma nuit (quoique, tu peux, bien sûr), mais dans le fil de mes pensées et réflexions sur que faire à quel heure et dans quel ordre et pendant combien de temps à chaque arrêt vendredi soir ?
Bon, moi-même j’arrive pas à me suivre… Faudra marcher, danser, découvrir et pas se poser de questions.

Samedi 3/12
Marché gratuit de jouets @ l’Alleedukaai
Si t’as des jouets à donner (profite quand même pas de la bonne action d’avoir amené tes gamins voir soFa, pour ensuite virer leur jeux préférés…), c’est le moment, c’est l’instant, c’est la bonne action du moment vu que c’est au bénéfice de gosses moins bien lotis que nous ne le sommes !

Le Souk du 123 #3
Et pendant tout le week-end, tu peux aussi passer voir le marché artisanal qui se tient au 123 ! Et dimanche ça se clôture tranquille avec leur table d’hôtes hebdomadaire (et apparemment un collectif nouveau qui y est pour quelques semaines, mais j’ai oublié leur nom.. raison de plus d’y aller pour prendre l’info à la source).

Mixit on Tour @ Pianofabriek
Faudra encore une ou deux sessions de danse pour que je sente que je suis bien arrivée à Bruxelles et m’y enraciner un peu. Pour s’échauffer, petite séance de musique de fanfares, samedi soir au Pianofabriek à Saint-Gilles. Ça va commencer avec la Clinik du Dr Poembak, puis Velotronik… et tout se termine avec un Dj set de Gan Gah.

Strictly Niceness invites Mr Critical @ La Bodega
Une fois que t’es bien chauffé, direction La Bodega pour l’édition de la soirée mensuelle Strictly Niceness. Ca va groover, funker, hip-hoper, rigoler, draguer, s’embrasser, s’enlacer, s’amitier, se lover, transpirer. Dans l’ordre que tu veux et peut-être tout à la fois en même temps.

Dimanche 4/12
8 heures contre la dette illégitime @ Campus du Solbosh – ULB
Parmi les 127 bouquins que je suis en train de lire, il y en a un fascinant, effrayant qui parle de capitalisme et de féminisme et de médecine et surtout de chasses aux “sorcières”…

Ca s’appelle le Caliban et la sorcière. C’est écrit par une certaine Silvia Federici et c’est ma nouvelle héroïne (même si le bouquin est vieux et que ça fait des plombes que je le cherche, que j’ai essayé de le commander en ligne et en librairie sans aucun succès et que je me suis retrouvée à télécharger une version pdf de l’édition en anglais…).

Si je t’en parle, ce n’est pas pour avouer mon forfait et me sentir soulagée. C’est parce que son nom apparaît dans la liste des intervenants à la journée des huit heures contre la dette illégitime. Pas étonnant vu la position de cette auteure ! Et en tout cas, crois-moi, je ne veux pas rater cette rencontre !

J’en suis toute excitée. Une excitation aussi intense que le concert de Glü vendredi soir, mais pas au même endroit…. Elle fait partie des intervenants du discours d’ouverture de la journée, et également de l’atelier “Face au capitalisme et au patriarcat : quelles luttes et stratégies des femmes ?”

La journée se clôturera festivement avec un concert de Terrakota, si tu n’es pas sorti du week-end, leurs sonorités feront sans aucun doute bouger ta carcasse réfrigérée par ce début de mois de décembre.

Chosta West Coast — Murmures/Burning Body @ Ateliers Mommens
Dans un autre genre, les Ateliers Mommens accueillent une exposition “Murmures/Burning Bodies” qui se clôture ce dimanche avec un concert de Matthieu Safatly. J’avoue une préférence musicale pour ce genre-là et je me verrais bien terminer mon week-end par là. C’est plus expérimental que festif pour le coup, mais après un vendredi et un samedi soirs aussi vibrants, c’est exactement ce qu’il me faudra !

Je pense que c’est un excellent programme qui fera remuer le popotin, taper du pied, user des jambes, frétiller les neurones, caresser les oreilles et au final ira gratter du côté du coeur…. mais pas pour faire mal, je te promets.

I am back in Brussels and ready to enjoy the joys of the city’s cultural and festive life. “Ready”, I am not that certain… I will not hide from you that a piece of my heart had stayed on a Catalan mountain, and I find myself day dreaming of another life. This is quite an unusual feeling, as it is rare that I have trouble coming back, I usually keep and store good memories and go on with my life. It will take me some Brussels festive moments to land, before leaving again. I refrain myself not to hit the road as early as December, but I think I will be reasonable and wait until spring …

Note that I wrote “I think” .. I leave the option to screw up this attempt to not travel soon, and that was pretty clear for me when, no later than yesterday, I heard myself saying that I won’t be attending a professional meeting set on January 4th…

But before organizing a retreat in the mountain, let’s get back to our business… I’ll tell you what I want to do this week.

Oh, by the way: none of these proposals contain a direct link to the event page. Because it takes me such a ridiculously large amount of time to make your life easier by including the hyperlinks, while the events in question and some others are all on the calendar that I update even when I don’t write to you.

Inauguration work of Derm @ The M.U.R
Since last Summer, you can discover each month a new work of a street artist, on a wall in the city center. The initiative, by Costik association (and therefore the tireless and enthusiastic Noémie Tant), is based on a concept which already exists in several cities in France, and it meets a certain success with the neighbors, the many passers-by, and the small street art local world. It’s really cool!

To celebrate this new temporary wall, which is already the fifth one, the inauguration is at 4 this Wednesday afternoon in the presence of the artist. This month, Derm is in charge. He’s a Belgian artist, who also does illustration and has an international reputation.

After the inauguration, the choice can be hard to make between two things:

Projection of short films “Work in progress” and visit of the Capitalism Museum
Option 1: heading towards Laeken for short film screenings at the Musée du Capitalisme
The Museum is underway until December 17th. If you have missed to visit it since it’s situated in Laeken or in one of its previous editions (in Namur, Saint-Gilles, …), it is time to move your ass and to see what is it all about.

It has the great advantage of trying to give an explanation of the system in which we live … And this while we often talk about the concept of capitalism without necessarily understanding it. The mission of this museum is to educate us about it!

This Wednesday, there are three shorts movies to watch.

“Chatomancies & Table d’hôtes @ La Communa Creation
Option 2: Go to the Communa Creation which opened its doors during my absence. A place that brings together artists and this reunion of creative minds gives a great impulse during their usual weekly tables of hosts on Wednesdays.

This week, there is a performance by Giulia Juliette Ledda, entitled Chatomancies, and just before an improvised concert by Mattia, Corner of Sieter and Stefano Rocco.

And in truth, you know what? This Wednesday I do not even do all that … pfff! If I continue to not to follow my own suggestions, I will end up thinking that my online personality is very far from my real life …

But hey, reassure yourself, I’ll still attend a cultural and festive event at Bozar, but the venue is certainly not alternative and in addition, I am on the guest list … (I just kind of ruin my own reputation with this one, right?).

Laboratory of research and experimentation on erotic curiosities by Olga Mathey @ Cinéma Nova
The cinema Nova hosts an exhibition of erotic curiosities. This Thursday, the opening of the exhibition will be festive: which means that in addition to discovering the work of the artist Olga Mathey, you can enjoy some concerts!

It looks nice, right? And it’s at the Nova, so it’s definitely good, I’m sure… And there’s the word “erotic” in the title. So let’s not be hypocritical about it: they got us with that already.

P I L O O T Cassette Release Party @ The Bibliothèque Corpus
Let’s now focus on our Friday. So the thing is that there’s this place that just opened. It’s a library, well kind of. It seems a little more complex than that. So I’m super curious.

There’s an agenda of their activity on their website. And in addition to that, there is this Friday a small musical party. And Saturday also, same place, same hours other artists.

Friday it’s a concert of Piloot with also Rastrejo, Sebastien Biset, Prairie and Antoine Boute.

Saturday is David Chazam, Frédérique Franke and Rita Braga and some songs of galactic birds (please don’t ask me to explain more. I have no idea: the whole idea of this blog is for me and you to go and check out anything weird, exciting and sometimes strange…).

Personally, I will get there (really real truth, in my real life which finally comes into symbiosis with my online life), because I want to discover this new venue, the music and I will be in the neighborhood for the Glüton party, in the same area of the city!

Glüton Night # 1 @ rue d’Artois, 44
This is the first edition of an evening to discover, and it’s in the city center, this Friday evening. There are two rooms and on the program a concert of the group Glü (hence the name of the party as I guess they are behind the organisation of it), it has been such a long time that I have not heard them playing and I’m so excited at the idea of seeing them again that would almost make me forget my Catalan nostalgia … Thank you guys!

And as a pleasure never comes alone, on the line up there is also the very cool, the unrivaled, the wonderful Dj soFa. I’m sure he made new fans no later than last Sunday at the Disco Kids. So now, thanks to him, a new generation had the luxury to attend one of the very first (afternoon) party of their lives and they start with an excellent set. Let me say this to you: if you are one of the parents who brought your kid to this party, there is not much that your child can complain about you on the sofa of a shrink in 15 or 25 years from now… And if there’s something to still whine about, well, my friend, everything will be rebalanced and put in perspective…

There are few other names that I do not know, but I’m looking forward to getting to know them. Especially Frigolity with his “Emotional Hip-Hop Experience”. No, but how the hell is it possible to resist such a parenthesis in a line-up?

So, I’m sorry, but because of my Gluttony, I will not be able to check the party at the Beurs to see the girls of the Supafly Collective. Well, that is what I say from the distance… but knowing that it’s also in the center, nothing is impossible and I may show up even for a short moment.

Free toy market @ the Alleedukaai
If you have toys to give (but please don’t take advantage of your good action bringing your kids to the Disco kids last weekend to get rid of their favorite toys without their permission…), it is the moment, it is the place, it’s the right action!

The Souk of the 123 # 3
And throughout the weekend, you can also see the craft market held at 123! And Sunday it closes quiet with their table of hosts weekly (and apparently a new collective who is there for a few weeks, but I forgot their name .. more reason to go to take the info at the source ).

Mixit on Tour @ Pianofabriek
I will have one or two dance sessions again so that I feel that I have arrived in Brussels and get a little rooted. To warm up, a small brass band music session on Saturday night at the Pianofabriek in Saint-Gilles. It will start with Dr. Poembak’s Clinik, then Velotronik … and it all ends with a Dj set from Gan Gah.

Strictly Niceness Invites Mr. Critical @ La Bodega
Once you’re well heated, direction La Bodega for the monthly edition of Strictly Niceness. It’s gonna get groovier, funkier, hip-hoper, you might find yourself kissing, huging, loving, sweating. In that order, the one you want or even doing all at once at the same time.

8 hours against illegitimate debt @ Campus du Solbosh – ULB
Among the 127 books I am currently reading, there is a fascinating, frightening one that speaks about capitalism and feminism and medicine and especially of the hunts of witches a few centuries ago ..

It’s called The Caliban and the Witch. It is written by Silvia Federici and she is my new heroine (even if the book is old and I was seeking it for a long time, tried to order it online and in a bookstore without any success and thus finally I found myself downloading a pdf version of the edition in English …).

If I tell you about it, it is not to confess my misdeed and feel relieved. This is because her name appears in the list of speakers at the eight-hour day against illegitimate debt. Not surprising given the position of this author! And in any case, believe me, I do not want to miss this meeting!

I’m excited. An excitement as intense as the concert of Glü Friday night, but not in the same place … She is one of the speakers of the opening speech of the day, and also of the workshop “Facing capitalism and patriarchy: what struggles and strategies of women?”.

The day will end festively with a concert of Terrakota, if you have not left the weekend, their sounds will undoubtedly move your carcass refrigerated by this beginning of December.

Chosta West Coast — Murmures/Burning Body @ Ateliers Mommens
In another genre, the Ateliers Mommens host an exhibition called Murmures / Burning Bodies which closes this Sunday with a concert by Matthieu Safatly. I must admit a musical preference for this genre and I would see myself ending my weekend there. It is more experimental than festive, but after a Friday and a Saturday evenings going out to party this is exactly what I will need.

I think it is an excellent program that will stir the ass, tap a foot, use the legs, wiggle the neurons, caress the ears and ultimately will scratch a little bit of the heart … But not in a hurtful way, I promise.
