Un nouveau week-end s’annonce et il va pleuvoir des événements ! Parmi ceux que l’on sait et qu’on ne va sans doute pas rater, à moins de le faire exprès, c’est la semaine de la mobilité qui se clôture avec la journée sans voitures, dimanche 17 septembre. Pour ma part, à part slalomer en rue en évitant les cyclistes qui une fois dans l’année sont pris de folie, l’activité qui me tente bien dans ce cadre est le Park(ing) day à Ixelles, en face de Refresh, dans la rue du Sceptre. Le Park(ing) day est organisé un peu partout dans le monde et le thème de cette année est “Réappropriation citoyenne artistique de l’espace urbain”, donc ça me parle.
Dans le genre ce mercredi soir, il y a un événement intitulé “Art & Activisme” au local Sacco Vanzetti et le sous-titre est “Comment la créativité artistique peut-elle soutenir l’activisme politique et l’émancipation sociale ?” Une bonne préparation pour vendredi et toutes les actions à mener à l’avenir ! Et d’ailleurs ça commence dès ce mercredi avec l’Ouverture festive de la Voix des Sans Papiers dans leur nouveau lieu et la Kermesse de sensibilisation sur la loi anti-squat sur la place Marie-Janson à Saint-Gilles…
Dans la grosse actualité culturelle du week-end, le truc qu’il est difficile de ne pas savoir c’est que c’est la première édition bruxelloise du festival “Nuits Sonores”. Bon, un événement qui reçoit une telle couverture médiatique (des Inrocks au Soir en passant par la DH ou la RTBF) et qui organise des méga soirées au Palais 12 du Heysel, c’est clair que ce n’est pas trop alternatif… Si j’en parle c’est pour attirer ton attention loin du plateau du Heysel vers d’autres rendez-vous et, comme ceux du European Lab, au Cinéma des Galeries : en plus de la carte blanche à Radio Panik il y a une conférence intitulée “Cultural Change Makers: Brussels & the alternative scene”… curieuse d’entendre ce qu’ils ont à dire sur le sujet.
Il y a aussi le Circuit des Nuits Sonores, qui passera par le Brass où Rebel Up! s’occupe de la programmation. C’est gratuit, éclectique et ça devrait bien danser avec Islam Chippy, Yz et Jabo et quelques autres :
Jeudi soir, mon coeur balance entre hip hop et Australie… Deux lieux, deux concerts, deux ambiances très différentes, gratuits tous les deux :
Ce sera donc soit le Red Corner où le collectif de MC “La Chaumière” avec 100 Crew & Duo d’en Bas vont nous balancer leur beat et leur rap.
Soit, vu que le genre ne plaît pas forcément à tout le monde, un concert au Chaff : il y a Giorgio Valentino qui est de passage à Bruxelles et qui me dit qu’il jouera au Chaff avec Dave Graney et Clare Moore.
En parlant de Hip-Hop, ici tendance Electro, il y a la soirée Bulex – Beat Me Up With Onra, Rachel Green, Fitz Ambrose, au Recyclart vendredi soir…
Et puis, il y a un moment, durant le week-end, où je me rendrai du côté de la rue de Flandre où se tient la brocante annuelle et j’en profiterai pour visiter le Salon Mirage, rue de la Senne, un festival sur l’édition avec expositions et aussi quelques concerts dans des lieux amis, comme par exemple cet artiste au Niko Matcha dimanche soir :
Côté expositions, je passerai par le Clignoteur, vendredi soir, découvrir le travail de Antonin De Bemmels.. et aussi les gourmandises prévues par Max (le patron du Yeti) dont je sais qu’elles seront délicieuses… Parfois c’est l’appel de l’Art passe par mon estomac et ma gourmandise.. j’assume !

A new weekend is coming and it will rain events! Among those that we know and that we will probably not miss, unless we do it on purpose, it’s Mobility Week and the Cars Free day on Sunday 17th September. Personally, besides slaloming on the street avoiding the bikes who are a bit crazy that day, the activity that tempts me is the Park(ing) Day in Ixelles, in front of Refresh, in the Rue du Sceptre. The Park(ing) Day is organized around the world and the theme of this year is “Artistic Citizen Reappropriation of the urban space”.
In the same dynamic, Wednesday evening, there is an event called “Art & Activism” at the Sacco Vanzetti and the subtitle is “How can artistic creativity support political activism and social emancipation?” A good preparation for Friday and all the actions to be carried out in the future! And it begins this Wednesday with the Festive Opening of the Voice of the Sans Papiers in their new place and the Kermesse in order to gain awareness on the anti-squat law that will be held on the Place Marie-Janson in Saint-Gilles …
One of the big cultural news of the weekend, and it’s so well covered by the media that it’s difficult not to know about it is the first Brussels edition of the festival “Nuits Sonores”. There is also the Circuit of the Nuits Sonores, whith meeting points, among other venues, at the Brass where Rebel Up! is responsible of the program. It’s free, eclectic and you should be able to dance thanks to Islam Chippy, Yz and Jabo and a few others:
Thursday night, my heart swings between hip hop and Australia … Two places, two concerts, two very different atmospheres, free fee for both. So it will be either the Red Corner where the MC’s collective La Chaumière with 100 Crew & Duo d’en Bas will share their beats and rap.
Given that the hip hop is a genre does not necessarily appeal to everyone, there’s also a concert at Chaff: Giorgio Valentino who is back in Brussels and who tells me that he will play with his Australian friends Dave Graney and Clare Moore.
Speaking of Hip-Hop, let’s add an Electro touch and we can go to the Bulex party: Beat Me Up With Onra, Rachel Green, Fitz Ambrose, in Recyclart Friday night …
And then, there should be a moment, during the weekend, when I will go to the flea market of Rue de Flandre and while there, I will probably check the Salon Mirage, in rue de la Senne, a festival dedicated to edition with exhibitions and some concerts in other venues such as this artist at the Niko Matcha Sunday night:
As for exhibitions, I will certainly visit Le Clignoteur on Friday night, to discover the work of Antonin De Bemmels .. and also the delicacies provided by Max (the boss of Yeti) which I know they will be delicious … Sometimes I’m not sure if I go because my eyes love Art or my stomach loves good food!
