Ca fait deux heures que je suis devant cette page blanche et que je ne sais pas par où commencer. Je me sens bien. Le soleil tape gentiment derrière la fenêtre. Petite impression d’être dans un îlot tranquille au milieu de la ville. Surtout j’écoute un son de ouf en boucle depuis une semaine. Alors, en plus de te mettre le lien (et t’inviter, si tu étais tout aussi ignorant que moi, d’aller écouter les autres compositions de cet artiste incroyable), je vais me dépêcher de te raconter l’agenda des prochains jours, puis je vais lâcher mon ordi, fermer les yeux et planer.

Musique : Kumiko Jam Session @ Kumiko Izakaya
La fermeture du Bravo avait fait craindre la fin des soirées de jam jazz. Heureusement, le lieu a réouvert sous un autre nom et reprend une programmation musicale intéressante, y compris les traditionnelles jam. Celle de ce mercredi est animée par le Paolo Loveri 4tet.

Exposition: Pièce Montée @ Sous les Tropiques
Un week-end d’exposition à l’atelier d’artistes “Sous les Tropiques”, avec au programme une performance sonore, jeudi soir, par Noé Berling, Isabelle et Tim Karbon. Samedi soir, ces quelques concerts dont celui de elefant and castle :

Exposition : Looking Forward To The Ocean @ ERG Gallery
A la galerie de l’ERG, les artistes Miléna Desse, Maxime Jean-Baptiste, Juliette Le Monnyer & Rémy Bender présenteront leur travail durant tout le week-end. Au programme une performance de Miléna Desse “Souvenir Pattern”, qu’elle présentera jeudi (#10)et samedi (#11), Maxime Jean-Baptiste présente son film “Voices” (projeté chaque soir) et samedi soir il y aura un concert proposé par Jakob Warmenbol et Sebastian Strinning.
Puisque je parle d’un événement dans une école d’art, note qu’il y a aussi les journées portes ouvertes à l’Académie Royale des Beaux Arts, tout le week-end…

Exposition : Alimentation Générale: Martin Belou – Club Belou’s FW17 @ After Howl Studio
After Howl, un collectif créé lorsqu’ils étaient étudiants à l’ERG, a un studio et invite semble-t-il Martin Belou. Impossible de donner un début d’explication. La curiosité devra nous pousser à aller voir de quoi il s’agit.

Communauté : Table d’hôtes et course de chaise @ La Brique
Un nouveau lieu d’occupation a ouvert à Schaerbeek, rue Gallait, depuis une ou deux semaines et ils lancent la classique table d’hôte le vendredi soir. C’est le moment de faire connaissance avec ceux qui y vivent ou participent au projet, de les rejoindre, voire d’échanger des idées pour d’autres projets similaires dans la ville…

Fête de rue : 5ème Carnaval Sauvage @ Bruxelles
Le Carnaval Sauvage de Bruxelles est de retour ! Le départ se fait depuis la Place du Jeu de Balles, à 15h30. Prépare tes costumes les plus sauvages pour sauvagement défiler dans les rues et brûler le promoteur immobilier et sa fidèle compagne la bureaucratie !

Soirée : Panik à la Chaudière : Chroniques Mutantes Queer Party @ Barlok
Pour la 100ème de leur émission hebdomadaire sur Radio Panik, sans aucune interruption, Les Chroniques mutantes font une grosse teuf à partir de 15 heures au Barlok. Pour marquer le coup, Les Chroniques Mutantes se sont associées avec quelques autres acteurs de la scène queer bruxellloise tels que La Chaudière et leur très chaudes soirées très populaires habituellement au 123, Massimadi Bruxelles, le Festival des films LGBT d’Afrique et de ses diasporas, le collectif Where We Belong, ainsi que les filles de La Sale Coiff’. Et pour le manger (bien végane) on peut compter sur la Qizinne Mobile.

Soirée : Bulex : Karnaval Edition @ La Bodega
Autre association, moins alternative mais très festive : les soirées Bulex et les fêtes en plein air ON. proposent une soirée commune à la Bodega. Si j’en parle, c’est parce que je repère dans le line up le nom de Dj Kisa : je l’ai vue jouer en décembre au Beurs, lors de la soirée du collectif Supafly et c’était bien dansant et cool !

Le programme commence par des concerts plutôt hip hop de L’Or du Commun, le 77 et le Dé. Puis ça danse dans deux salles : la première avec les sets de TLP aka Troubleman, Goodfellaz Sound System, Highbloo, Azer (All Eyes Hip Hop), DJ Kisa (Barcolena), Kurtis Lo (Escalade/ Hustla) et Théo (BSMNT) et la seconde dont le line up réunit principalement les DJ’s de ON et qui sera donc plus techno/electro : A.G, Rafael Munoz, Groove Principality, BankRuptCy (ON.)

Ah oui : c’est une soirée Karnaval, ça veut dire que si t’es déguisée tu rentres gratos avant minuit (au lieu de payer 5€) et après ça coûte 5€ (au lieu de 10). Sympa.

Cinéma : Dirty Crimes & Funky Beats @ NGHE
Petite soirée de projections de films sanglants.. une soirée de projection qui débute par un mix musical sur le thème du néo-polar italien.. tout un programme !

O Quartier @ VK
Le VK ouvre apparemment ses portes à ceux qui veulent tester le matos dans un environnement professionnel. C’est gratuit pour eux et c’est gratuit pour le public… Pourquoi ne pas aller voir tout cela de plus près ? Danser, open mic, freestyle…

I’ve started to write this article so many hours ago but can’t figure out how to start. I feel good. The sun strikes gently behind the window. I feel like I’m in a very quiet island in the middle of the city. Especially while I’m listening to a fantastic album I’ve discovered this week. I’m posting the music here (and I strongly suggest you – if you were as ignorant as myself – to check out the other work from this artist), then I’ll let you know quickly about the agenda and I’m looking forward to leaving my computer, close my eyes and let my spirit fly away thanks to this music.

Music: Kumiko Jam Session @ Kumiko Izakaya
When the Bravo Bar closed its door, it made us realized that may have been the end of jazzy jam session evenings on Wednesdays. Luckily, the venue has reopened under a different name and seems to keep the interesting musical Programmation, including the traditional Wednesday Jazz Jam sessions. This week it’s hosted by the Paolo Loveri Quartet.

A newly occupied building has opened in Schaerbeek, rue Gallait, a week or two ago and they are also launching the classic “guests table” on Fridays evenings. You’ll get there to meet the people who live there, or are part of the project, to exchange ideas and have a great moment…

Street Party: 5th Wild Carnaval @ Bruxelles
The Carnaval Sauvage de Bruxelles is back! It starts from the Place de Jeu de Balles, at 15:30. Get ready with your wildest costumes to savagely parade through the streets and burn the Real Estate Developer and his faithful companion Mrs. Bureaucracy!

Party: Panik à la Chaudière: Chroniques Mutantes Queer Party @ Barlok
For the 100th edition of their weekly show on Radio Panik, the radio show “Les Chroniques Mutantes” is throwing a party starting at 3 pm at Barlok. for the occasion, they have teamed up with a few other actors of the Brussels queer scene such as La Chaudière and their very popular evenings usually at 123, Massimadi Brussels, the African LGBT Film Festival and its diasporas, and also the collective Where We Belong, and the girls of La Sale Coiff’. Of course, there’s also something (vegan) to eat thanks to the Qizinne Mobile.

Party: Bulex: Karnaval Edition @ La Bodega
Another association, less alternative but very festive: the Bulex parties teams up with the open air parties ON. in order to offer us a whole night long party at Bodega. If I talk to you about it, it’s because I’ve spotted – in the lineup – the name of Dj Kisa: I enjoyed her set back in December at the Beurs, during a Supafly collective party and it was very dancing and cool!

The program begins with rather hip-hop concerts of l’Or du Commun, le 77 and le Dé. Then Dj’s are taking over to make you dance in two different rooms. In the first one, you have TLP aka Troubleman, Goodfellaz Sound System, Highbloo, Azer (All Eyes Hip Hop), DJ Kisa (Barcelona), Kurtis Lo (Escalade/ Hustla) and Théo (BSMNT) while the second one is a line up build by the ON. team which is thus more electro/techno and where you have A.G, Rafael Munoz, Groove Principality, BankRuptCy (ON.)
Oh and by the way: it’s a Karnaval party, that means that if you show up with a costume, before midnight the entry will be free (instead of 5 €) and after midnight it will only cost you 5 € (instead of 10).

Apparently, every once in a while, the VK opens its doors to those who want to test the stuff in a professional environment. It’s free for them and it’s free to the public … Why not go and check it all? Dancing, open mic, freestyle …
