Agenda 14/12 — 20/12/2016

Cette semaine, je tente de regarder mon agenda pour ce qu’il est : une sélection de choses que j’aimerais faire, mais en étant très réaliste quant au temps qu’il m’est imparti, aux moyens financiers et énergétiques qui sont les miens.

Bref, plutôt que de te noyer sous les propositions, je tente le minimalisme. Et ce qui semble peu pour un article est déjà énorme pour mes temps libres des prochains jours

Bon, j’avoue ça coince dès mercredi cette histoire. C’est que je veux me rendre à deux évènements et que forcément je raterai un petit bout de l’un et de l’autre..

Concert : David Neaud & Karine Jurquet // Stills + Ian Dykmans @ La Compilothèque – rue de la Senne
Je commence à la Compilothèque, installée en ce moment dans une cave voutée (et zone fumeurs) de la rue de la Senne, au centre ville.

Il y a là un concert de David Neaud & Karine Jurquet suivi d’une collaboration entre Stills et les photos de Ian Dykmans.

Concert: La Masse Gluante Cabaret Freak Noise @ Barlok
Puis au Barlok, c’est une soirée de concert sans doute assez dark, mais potentiellement excessivement intéressant, troublant, vibrant…

Jeudi, je vais me la faire plutôt cocoon : entre la sortie du mercredi soir et le programme du week-end, il n’est pas réaliste de m’imaginer quelque part. A moins que cela ne soit pour poser mes fesses sur un siège et regarder un film, voire discuter après du sujet. Selon le mood, l’intérêt du jour, j’irais soit à Bruxelles Laïque, à Saint-Gilles, pour un fillm sur la démocratie, soit au Café Boom, au centre, pour un film sur l’architecture belge.

Il est très vraisemblable que je n’ai pas le courage de me déplacer si loin, et que je reste à Flagey. Après tout, l’offre culturelle y est également intéressante, par exemple cette semaine il y a un spectacle de danse contemporaine, un peu hybride, et mis en scène par Etienne Béchard, qui nous invite à une satyre du monde moderne…

Fête Urbaine : Plaisir d’Heyvaert @ Place de Liverpool
Vendredi, les festivités commencent assez tôt : dès l’après-midi, on se retrouve à Molenbeek, où les amis du collectif AuQuai (qui perdent leur lieu d’occupation dont ils jouissaient depuis une décennie) lancent la Lab Galerie, une galerie citoyenne itinérante. La fête urbaine et participative autour de cette initative commence dès 15 heures à la Place de Liverpool, à Molenbeek.

Expo et Concert: Pizza Noise Mafia @ Rectangle
De là, il sera assez aisé de se rendre à Rectangle, pas bien loin du Wiels. C’est d’ailleurs en collaboration avec la résidence artistique du Wiels que ce lieu d’art alternatif et indépendant nous propose leur nouvelle exposition de Christophe de Rohan Chabot. Le vernissage est sous forme d’un concert.

Lecture : “Metal” de Jānis Joņevs @ Librebook
Un livre sur la naissance de la scène métal en Lettonie, dans les années ‘90, vient de sortir en traduction française. Une lecture qui promet donc une plongée dans une sous-culture… Les extraits, disponibles en ligne, me paraissent prometteur.

La lecture a lieu ce vendredi soir à Librebook, une librairie à Ixelles, qui propose des livres (et du vin) européens en langue originale. C’est pas bien loin de chez moi, donc je pense que je pourrais y faire un crochet avant de rentrer me reposer pour ressortir…

Deep Tribal & Ethno Techno @ Zodiak
La soirée de vendredi, c’est au Zodiak que ça se passe. Organisée par un collectif indépendant, ils ont invités un DJ de Berlin (Dj Badre) et un autre de Barcelone (Henry Bergman – oui un mec avec un nom allemand peut venir de Barcelone), de quoi forcément attirer mon attention.

A leurs côtés on retrouve les Bruxellois de la Fanfara Electronica et le mapping vidéo est réalisé par les Lillois Purpurea.

Bref, une soirée qui promet du bon son et de nous en mettre plein la vue (je t’aurais bien mis la vidéo “teaser” qui montre le video mapping, mais les orgas ne l’ont postés que sur FB, un site web jaloux qui empêche de partager sur un autre site et d’être vu si t’es pas membre).

Performances & Sounds : S.M.O.G #15@ Projection Room
Faudrait que je tente de trouver le moyen d’aller voir les derniers travaux des étudiants de P.A.R.T.S et de MaNaMa, qu’ils nous montrent à la Projection Room, vendredi et samedi soir… Une collaboration entre performances et sons qui devraient sans aucun doute être intéressante et riche. Mais j’avoue que je coince, car je t’ai déjà parlé de mon vendredi, et voici mon samedi :

En journée, je serai au fond de mon canapé. Je l’ai placé judicieusement entre une fenêtre très ensoleillée au moment où je t’écris ces lignes (et pour quelques heures) et le feu ouvert, qui ouvrira donc samedi pour mon plus grand plaisir.

Concert : N3rdistan @ VK
Ensuite, direction Molenbeek, à nouveau, cette fois le VK pour le concert d’un groupe marocain qui allie des grands textes de la littérature arabe avec de la musique électro assez tripante… Pour les textes, je n’en comprends pas un demi-mot mais je peux constater que ça à l’air fort poétique et il paraît que certains sont mêmes assez révolutionnaires (je fais confiance aux rapports de journalistes arabophones à ce sujet).

Après le concert, un dj set de Gan Gah qui est hyper cool et qui nous fera bien danser.

Soirée : Heartbroken#8 w/Oklou /Florentino /Dj Ouai /nevrland /Liyo&Steff @ Beursschouwburg
En repartant du VK, direction le centre ville et en particulier le Beurs, qui est sur ma route. Il est réaliste de penser que je pourrais faire un saut à la soirée Heartbroken. L’entrée est quand même à 8€, la vache… Mais bon, il y a d’abord un concert live avant les dj sets… je comprends…

Soirée : Mon Cul Est Une Autoroute Du Soleil – Bruxelles @ Epicerie Moderne
Alternativement, pas bien loin de la Grand Place, il y a une soirée (gratuite) au nom très poétique. L’ambiance sera forcément queer autour de ce collectif parisien qui vient nous envahir le temps d’une grosse fête un peu folle. Je n’ai pas l’intention d’y passer la nuit, mais un crochet pour un dernier verre avant de rentrer est fort envisageable…

Projection : KinoKids #4 @ Le Maga
Bon, normalement, si tout se passe comme je viens de le prévoir, je ne serai pas rentrée trop tard samedi soir et du coup, je pense être en forme assez tôt le dimanche. En forme mais pas trop, donc des projections de courts métrages pour enfants de tous les âges devraient aller parfaitement avec mon niveau d’attention qui ne dépassera pas les dix minutes.

Concert : OMFI #20 @ YIAP
Bon, alors j’ai du chercher ce que voulait dire toutes ces lettres.
OMFI = One Moment Free Improv
YIAP = Ypres Interactive Art Project

Un lieu que je ne connaissais pas, un concept dont je n’avais jamais entendu parler. C’est bien heureux que j’avais vu le set de Mathieu Safatly, la semaine passée, aux Ateliers Mommens, où je voulais me rendre, que j’ai raté et que j’ai cherché s’il jouait ailleurs bientôt. Voilà comment j’ai découvert le truc.

Donc, en pluls de Mathieu, il y a aussi un set des artistes Maurice Charles JJ avec PETERMFRIESS. C’est à découvrir dimanche en fin de journée, histoire de rester sur une note musicale tout en se préparant à une bonne nuit de sommeil pour attaquer les derniers jours de l’année et les festivités d’un autre genre qui nous attendent (et en ce qui me concerne, cette attente n’est pas réciproque).

This week, I am trying to look at my agenda for what it is: a selection of things I would like to do, but this time, I’m trying to be very realistic about my time, my finances and my energy resources.

So, rather than drowning you and me under a ton of proposals, I try minimalism. And is already huge for my free time of the next few days. If you still want to check many other things to do in town this week, the calendar is online, as usual!

Concert : David Neaud & Karine Jurquet // Stills + Ian Dykmans @ La Compilothèque – rue de la Senne
Well, I confess that it’s already hard to apply this Wednesday. It is because I want to go to two events and while doing so, II will necessarily miss a little bit of both.
I will start at the Compilotheque, currently installed in a vaulted cellar (and smoking area) in the rue de la Senne, in the city center.
There is a concert by David Neaud & Karine Jurquet followed by a collaboration between Stills and photos by Ian Dykmans.

Then at the Barlok, it is a concert evening which will be without any doubt dark enough, but potentially excessively interesting, disturbing, vibrant …

Thursday, I’m going to make it rather chill: between the Wednesday evening and the program of the weekend, it is not realistic to imagine myself partying or excessively socializing on Thursday. This is a time to stay put. To sit down and watch. According to my mood that day, I would either go to Brussels Laïque, in Saint-Gilles, for a film about democracy, or to Café Boom, in the center, for a film about Belgian architecture.

Fête Urbaine: Plaisir d’Heyvaert @ Place de Liverpool
On Friday, the festivities begin soon enough: in the afternoon, we’ll be going to meet in Molenbeek, where the friends of the collective AuQuai (who lose their occupied building) launch the Lab Galerie, a mobile citizen gallery. The urban and participative celebration around this initiative begins at 3 pm at the Place de Liverpool.

Opening & Concert: Pizza Noise Mafia @ Rectangle
From there it will be quite easy to get to Rectangle, not far from Wiels. It is in collaboration with the artistic residence of the Wiels that this project space proposes to us their newest exhibition by Christophe de Rohan Chabot. The vernissage is in the form of a concert, apparently.

Reading: “Metal” by Jānis Joņevs @ Librebook
A book about the birth of the metal scene in Latvia, in the nineties, has just been released in its French translation. The kind of reading that promises a dive into a specific subculture…
if you read french, you can have a taste of the book online, and it seems promising. The reading takes place this Friday evening at Librebook, a bookshop in Ixelles, which offers European books (and wine) in their original language.
It is not far from my home, I think it is realistic to imagine that I can make it on my way to have some rest before the party night.

Deep Tribal & Ethno Techno @ Zodiak
Friday evening, let’s go to Club Zodiak. There’s a party organized by an independent collective. They invited a DJ from Berlin (Dj Badre) and another one from Barcelona (Henry Bergman – yes people travel and a guy with a German name can come from Barcelona), which necessarily catches my attention.

On the line-up you can also find the Brussels-based Fanfara Electronica and a mapping video will be made by Purpurea, coming from Lille.

In short, an evening that promises good sound and nice video installation (I would have posted you the video “teaser”, but the organizers only posted it on FB, a jealous website that prevents posting on another site and seeing their thing if you are not a member).

Performances & Sounds : S.M.O.G #15@ Projection Room
I should try to find a moment to see the latest works of the students of PARTS and MaNaMa, that they are going to show us at the Projection Room on Friday and Saturday evenings … Performances and sounds that should undoubtedly be Interesting and rich. But I confess that I’m bit stuck and that would be complicated, as you know already how my Friday is packed and here is a glimpse of my Saturday:

During the day, I will be on my couch. I’ve strategically placed it between a very sunny window as I write these lines (and this is the case for several hours of the day) and the open fire, which will thus be open Saturday for my greatest pleasure.

Concert: N3rdistan @ VK
Then, to Molenbeek again, this time at the VK for the concert of a Moroccan group that combines great texts of Arabic classic literature with very modern electro music … For the texts, I do not understand a word but I can hear that it’s very poetic and it seems that some are quite revolutionary (I trust the reports of Arabic-speaking journalists on this subject).

After the concert, a DJ set of Gan Gah which is super cool and which will make us dance, no doubt about it.

Party: Heartbroken#8 w/Oklou /Florentino /Dj Ouai /nevrland /Liyo&Steff @ Beursschouwburg
Coming from the VK, I’ll take my way back towards the city center and in particular the Beurs, which is on my route. It is realistic to think that I could make it at the Heartbroken party. The entrance is still € 8, … But hey, there is first a live concert before the dj sets … so the price is fair enough…

Party: Mon Cul Est Une Autoroute Du Soleil – Bruxelles @ Epicerie Moderne
Alternatively, not far from the Grand Place, there is a (free) party with a very poetic name (Google translate is your friend, if you don’t get it). The Parisian collective is bringing to Brussels their queer concept. I do not intend to spend the night, but it’s possible to check and grab a drink there before heading home…

Projection: KinoKids #4 @ Le Maga
Well, normally, if everything happens as I’ve just foreseen, I will not be back so late on Saturday night and thus I think I’ll be awake early enough on Sunday. While probably not ready for a half marathon, I think a session of short movies for kids (of all ages) should do perfectly for my brain.

Concert: Soirée OMFI #20 @ YIAP
So, here I had to look what all those letters stand for…
OMFI = One Moment Free Improv
YIAP = Ypres Interactive Art Project
That’s a venue I did not know of, and a concept I’ve never heard of. I found out about it because, last week, I finally couldn’t make it to the concert of Mathieu Safatly at Ateliers Mommens. So, while deeply regretting it, I was looking if – by any chance – he was playing anytime soon. And here we have it! That’s how I realized that this place existed (and apparently for a couple of years at least).

Besides Mathieu, there’s also artists Maurice Charles JJ with PETERMFRIESS. For a Sunday evening, that sounds like a perfect plan to me.
