Agenda 19/02 – 25/02/2015

Cette semaine : on aime tellement le cinéma qu’on y passe deux nuits.

D’abord, on voyagera sur une île schaerbeekoise pour mater des gens sur grand écran souvent perdus au milieu d’un environnement paradisiaque. Et on y passera toute la nuit, petit déjeuner compris.

Le programme inclut quelques épisodes de Lost, alors pour que tu ne sois pas totalement perdu, voici une mini rétrospective…

On laissera tomber les paillettes de la Saturday Night Fever, pour les troquer contre un pyjama et on ne s’endormira pas car la Nuit sera Animée à Flagey, comme chaque année.

On aimera aussi le cinéma en privé, dans les ciné-clubs de la ville parce que c’est plus alternatif, que les films présentés sont souvent des documentaires et qu’ils nous montrent un autre monde. Pour ça on ira regarder La dernière année au Barlok et on restera après la séance parce qu’il y a un concert.

On ira au Clignoteur et on croisera les doigts pour que le projecteur ne clignote pas pendant la projection de Rond est le monde de Olivier Dekegel. On profitera de la visite pour (re)voir l’exposition en cours de ce project space qui parle d’animaux et de choses. Et qui nous donne à voir de bien belles choses.

On se lancera dans la Permaculture urbaine, au moins par écran interposé pour cette séance proposée par Bruxelles en Transition. On tentera de ne pas perdre la tête, de garder notre raison et on se demandera qui est le plus fou en regardant “Sainte-Anne, hôpital psychiatrique” au Théâtre de Poche…

Les fous, les marginaux, les ratés de la société, les fragiles, les débiles : ce sont parfois, souvent, les plus créatifs d’entre nous et le musée arts&marges l’a bien compris… Cette semaine c’est le vernissage d’American Folk Art et l’on découvrira que le Sud profond des Etats-Unis regorge d’artistes.

Ailleurs dans la ville, dans le beaux quartiers entre la Bascule et le Châtelain, un appartement privé se transforme parfois – le temps d’une expo – en espace d’art indépendant et porte le nom de Middlemarch. Là, Patrick Carpentier y présentera “Conversation with a bird”, mais personne ne dira de lui qu’il est fou.

Entre ces invitations à passer la nuit sur une île ou à découvrir le monde psychiatrique, on sent bien que l’horreur n’est pas loin… On la sent, palpable entre les interstices de nos vies… Ou entre les murs de InBetween pour l’expo Horror Formalism…

Souvent, on ferme les yeux, pour éviter de voir ce que l’on craint. Mais cela ne changera rien durant la présentation de For your Ears only, au Beurrschouwburg, puisque tout est fait pour tes oreilles uniquement durant cette performance.

Face à toutes ces images et ces sons, on aura envie d’action : une énergie nouvelle – parfois violente – semblera vouloir exulter de nos corps : on ira apprendre à chasser, certes pas le Mammouth car il n’y en a plus : mais les pylônes électriques.

On se prendra de passion pour le Catch même si ce n’est qu’avec des mots, mais puisqu’il sera servi avec une bière à l’Amère à boire, on oubliera bien vite l’absence de coups de poings pour autant de coups de gueules ou de coups d’éclat verbaux.

On se dira ensuite qu’il vaut mieux se calmer et on ira écouter de la musique, parce qu’on nous a dit qu’elle adoucit les mœurs. Mais qui a dit qu’on cherchait la douceur ? Et celui qui a inventé cette citation n’a jamais été à un concert de hard rock.

On se réjouira de voir une fois encore, une fois de plus, pas une fois de trop car on n’en a jamais assez… on se réjouira donc de revoir la Tendre émeute : ils sont nombreux sur scène, on ne comprendra pas tout, mais on sentira qu’on fait partie d’un tout et on perdra un peu la tête. On entendra des sons, des mots, on verra des corps autour de nous : ce sera sauvage et doux, on ne verra pas toujours ce qu’ils font sur scène et qui chante, ou qui danse ou qui parle, parce qu’on se bousculera pour les voir et eux aussi. Et au milieu des dos, des cheveux longs ou des crânes rasés, entre les bouts de tissus ou les bouts de peaux, on devinera que c’est grand, fort et puissant. On en aura plus que pour notre argent, ils en mettront plein la vue. Ce sera trop. Mais à la fin on en redemandera et on ressentira un vide, un manque, un truc en plus dans notre âme, mais quelque chose d’impalpable manquera à toutes nos sorties après ça.

On ira se bousculer également pour le live de Mugwump. Pour la sortie de son morceau, il a fait un clip léché et sexy et la combinaison de ces deux mots est plus excitante que l’idée de voir les branchés débarquer au Central. Mais, au milieu d’un hiver même pas froid, on est ouvert à l’idée de se mélanger avec toute sortes de sons et de gens. On le vaut bien et eux aussi.

Un hiver tellement pas froid que cela sent la saison des festivals. On choisira notre monde, celui de la Pyramide, avec ses artistes, sa lumière, sa musique ou la galaxie Stellar Swamp, pour s’éclater sur des sons psychédéliques.

On ira danser. Danser. Danser. Partout : dans les bars de la ville qui invitent des tas de Dj’s. On ne sera pas obligé de se décider une fois pour toute : on fera le tour de la Grand Place :

Au Bonnefooie, la Boochie night avec Marvin & Guy, Bim Jecker et Bernard L’Hermite

Sans même parler de soFa qui y mixera vendredi soir avec Digital Me.

Dans la rue des Chapeliers, l’Epicerie moderne sera électro pour La Classique Birthday Tour.

Et le Central propose la Thin Consolation Label Night.

On se dirigera ensuite vers les Marolles, petit arrêt au Night Shop… Party du Recyclart !

En remontant vers Saint-Gilles, c’est fatiguant, mais on prendra un coup à la Pompe. Ce café ouvre ses portes vendredi et invite Steréoclip. Le lieu est petit, les invités sont nombreux. Mais le trottoir qui remplace le lieu de passage des voitures quand c’était encore une pompe à essence, semble spacieux : on se serrera et on se réchauffera ainsi.

Plus haut encore, le Bar du Matin vibrera aux sons plus groove de la Supafly Party

On dormira quelque part pour être prêt à s’enfoncer plus loin dans Forest le lendemain lors de la Brüxsel Jardin qui invite Kann Records à la Wild Gallery.

A moins que l’on préfère la Dub et là c’est retour au Canal. Au Quai, se bousculeront aux platines La Face B, Triple Dose, Reservoir Dub et Gamma Sound

Pour commencer le week-end on ira brûler le bonhomme de neige dans un nouveau marché à Tours et taxis, qui proposera tous les vendredis un after work… (il est temps pour moi de mettre à jour le guide sur les apéros et Open air!)

Et après ce week-end bien rempli, on ira squater le nouveau Squat ouvert par le collectif Communa. Cette fois à Saint-Josse, dans une maison qui est certes moins grandiose que celle occupée à Uccle, mais plus centrale et donc plus pratique à rejoindre.

On fera tout cela.

Qui est “on”, toi, lui, une autre ?

Je ne suis sûre que d’une chose, “on” ne sera pas moi. Berlin m’appelle, je réponds.

La semaine prochaine, pas d’agenda, mais reviens quand même car je vais t’apprendre à pêcher !

This week, Brussels is offering you not only one but two full night of cinemas! That’s one of those coïncidence of the agenda which brings the same type of – original – concept the very same week. Watching and documenting what’s going in Brussels since years now, I’ve since that often.

The first one is a classic: every year is the Anima festival in Flagey, and one of their highlight is the Nuit animée on Saturday night. The second one is l’Heure d’hiver, the counterpart of the summer festival ‘L’heure d’été” by Cinéma des Galeries. Because it’s winter and they seem to long for the Summer to come, the cinema decided to travel : around Brussels and camp in Halles de Schaerbeek and to travel in an island: the theme of all the movies and tv show which will be screened that night.

There’s many other proposals to see movies and documentaries in town: mainly in movie clubs, alternative and this week proposals might be mostly in French, so take your time to check the links below if you’re interrested…

If you want to go to an exhibition, again, there’s a decent number of choices and I’ve decided, once again to focus on the ones at the edge… And it’s exactly what the museum arts&marges is doing: showing us the work of the mors fragiles among us… This week is the opening of American Folk Art. The folk in question is people living in the great South of the US, not with the more artsy reputation… but yet, there’s some creativity over there…

More classy is this appartment not so far from Châtelain area which is every once in a while a project space, called Middlemarch. Patrick Carpentier will have a “Conversation with a bird” exhibition..

If you’re looking for the big thrill, maybe the Horro Formalism exhibition at InBetween art space will be for you.

Close your eyes if you don’t want to see horrors, and let’s meet at the Beursschouwburg for a play “For Your Ears Only” where there’s nothing to see..

And if you feel like hunting, there’s a workshop to teach you how to hunt electric pylônes… !

And then it’s time to talk about my favourite concert this week: La Tendre émeute will be playing at Magasin 4. It’s crazy, weird, sexy, horrifying, never boring, crowded: you won’t have a rest during the show but yet at the end of it, you’ll crave for more. La Tendre émeute. Go and discover if you don’t know it yet.

Other type of crowd, less crazy more trendy, will be certainly showing up at the Cafe Central, for once, because that’s where Mugwump is live-showing his new album for the second time. There’s a video, kind of sexy and clean, which is the best way to describe the overal scene. Just for the idea of mixing them in a venue like le Central is worth it.

In the middle of this crazyness, you maybe decide that you want even more. You’re longing for the summer festivals. I can’t fast forward the time but I can propose you, in the heart of this winter to go and psych yourself at the Stellar Swamp psychedelic festival. Or to follow your Impulse at the Pyramide.

Anyway one of the best way to heat up a body is to make it dance (it’s not the only one though, but I leave other methods to your fantasies). This week: go the the Grand Place and open your ears: you should hear sounds coming for many places close by: the Bonnefooie – as usual – with a Boochie night, for example.. or even better: dj soFa on Friday. You may hear sounds coming from l’Epicerie moderne for the Classique Birthday Tour.

And a bit further the Thin Consolation Label Night at the Central…

After touring and discovering all around the hyper center, let’s go to the Night Shop party… they also have beers there, and as it’s the Recyclart it might not be as expensive as in a real night shop in downtown.

Outside the center, there’s a big opening in Saint-gilles for a very small cafe calle La Pompe, because it’s in a former “pompe à essence” (petrol pump). Stereoclip is invited to play:

There’s other parties, like the Brüxsel Jardin who’s inviting Kann Records to play at the Wild Gallery in Forest.

Life is not only a party: there’s a brand new market who will open on Friday at Tours & Taxis (and it will be about time for me to update the guide to apéros and Open airs),for the opening they will burn the Snowman! And there’s also the  opening of a new occupied building in Saint-Josse by La Communa….

So I leave you to all this. Enjoy yourself and keep me informed on how you liked it or not. I won’t be able to check it by mysel because once again, Berlin is calling me. It means that next week, there’s no agenda, but have not fear: I will teach you how to fish!
