Je me suis perdue sur les internets…. et le temps est passé… Qu’écrire après avoir écouté Ibrahim Maalouf ? Pas grand chose, on est bien d’accord.
Ça avait commencé par une vidéo de Bruxelles Ma Belle, qui nous fait connaître des musiciens, mais également des tas de lieux à Bruxelles…
Dans la liste, je vois le nom d’Ibrahim Maalouf, et je me souviens que je l’avais raté, lors de son passage à Bozar…. j’en ai profité pour me réenchanter de sa trompette…
Je te laisse donc sur cette musique….
Ceci dit, n’oublie pas d’aller à la découverte de ce qu’il se passe ailleurs :
Jeudi, à la Maison d’Art Actuel des Chartreux, l’artiste Belgo Marocain Younes Baba-Ali nous fait découvrir “Brussels Background”
Island, qui fait partie des project spaces bruxellois, déménage vers la rue du Mail et nous invite à une exposition de Sébastien Bonin “Salon Indien”
Dans le même quartier, derrière l’église de la Trinité, il y a un concert et une jam jazz au Chat Pitre.
The Club, je ne connais pas du tout ! Mais il y a la soirée Trust et le son me semble très bon ! J’espère que le lieu ne sera pas décevant…
Vendredi, Le Lac, un espace qui se trouve rue Ullens à quelques pas du Canal… C’est le quatrième chapitre de leur expo “Venez Bouffez un Zodiaque” et c’est le signe du Scorpion qui est à l’honneur..
De l’autre côté du Canal, au Kaaitheater, le même soir c’est la Nuit du Savoir : une série de conférences pour mieux connaître Bruxelles et sa réalité urbanistique !
Au Bunker Theater, c’est la sortie et l’exposition de 1001 Visions du Sexe : un artiste a demandé à des centaines de personnes de dessiner un sexe masculin et un sexe féminin… Viens découvrir leur vision…
Au Quai, Last Days of Techno pour danser sur du son techno qui tue les oreilles : il y aura aux platines plusieurs DJ’s dont Strapontin :
Et si tu cherches des sons plus chaleureux, alors il faut aller écouter la Soul Therapy de Bernard Dobeleer au Club Clandestin : funky, grooove et soul seront servis sur un plateau festif !
Samedi on se balade à Schaerbeek, d’abord c’est l’inauguration de Clovis XV, un nouvel espace artistique indépendant et alternatif. Il y a une exposition collective à y découvrir : “Confort Moderne”. Je suis curieuse de découvrir cela !
En début de soirée pour les concerts du Chat Borgne (ne confonds pas avec le Chat-Pitre à Ixelles, ça, c’est jeudi !). Ils invitent Nicolas Ankidounov et le groupe Sages Comme des Sauvages.
En soirée, direction Saint-Josse : à la salle Rogier, Rebel Up, petite soirée Cumbia, un peu de chaleur electro-latino en perspective avec l’Argentin Chancha Via Circuito et les DJ’s des soirées parisiennes Muevelo!
Si tu aimes les sons minimal, tu seras sans doute servi lors de la fête des 5 ans des soirées Elektromagnetik. Pour marquer le coup, ils invitent l’Italien Dust, du label musical Looney Moon ainsi que Dirty Saffi qui débarque de Grande Bretagne et représente le label Bomshankamusic
Dimanche, c’est du côté de Flagey qu’on va un peu traîner…. D’abord sur la Chaussée de Vleurgat : la récente galerie Suzanne est l’hôte pendant un an de Ed&Cie : spécialiste de la micro-édition à découvrir en détail lors de l’évènement de ce week-end.
A Flagey, le Festival Zero18, à destination des enfants (de zéro à 18 ans donc) devrait leur permettre de découvrir ce que sont les droits des enfants. Non, cela ne veut pas dire qu’ils ont le droit de surfer sur Internet jusqu’à pas d’heures….
Au bord du canal, l’Alleedukaai accueille Costik, une association qui met le street art en avant. Ce sera le moment de découvrir les murs peints par Solo 5 et quelques autres… mais surtout de découvrir le nouveau travail par 7 artistes invités par EyesB de Tsunami Graffiti.
Lundi, retour à l’école… et plus particulièrement à l’ERG qui reçoit “Oral Site”, une publication en ligne de travaux d’artistes. Il s’agit d’une collaboration entre Sarma, Rits et l’ERg : et Oral Site est une plateforme, un logiciel et un projet qui permet l’édition digitale !
Le plus important – pour moi – est la projection en avant-première du film “Démarche” de mon amie Stéphanie Paillet au cinéma Aventure. Elle a suivi durant 3 mois et 1500 kilomètres une jeune fille en total décrochage les emmenant à pied sur les routes du pélerinage de Compostelle….
L’entrée est gratuite et le film vient de recevoir un très bon accueil lors du Festival du Film d’Aventure de La Rochelle ! Bref, tu auras compris que j’y serai et cet évènement à lui seul à influencer le titre de cet article !
En marche, donc, pour un week-end qui s’annonce intense….

I’m super late in the publishing of this article. The fault goes to Ibrahim Maalouf.
I was stumbling upon videos and sounds. In particular the videos of Bruxelles Ma Belle : they are filming musicians in different places in town: a nice way to discover two things! While there, I realised that they had the chance to meet Maalouf. So of course I had to listen to the video, and I was trapped in his magical touch…. And you know how YouTube works: giving you the chance to click to another video and another one and another one…
At least here is the very first video… You’ve been warned…
And what’s going on in Brussels this week?
Thursday, exhibition day! At the MAAC, there’s an artist from Belgium and Morocco (yeah!! the best mix ever, right?). He has an exhibition called Brussels Background and want to highlight the milticultural side of the city!
Morrocan are so talented… for me there’s another proof when I see what Island is doing: it’s a project space, they are moving to a new place and have the exhibiton of Sébastien Bonin called “Salon Indien” to start with the new venue. What is the link with the fantastic creative mind of “my” people? Well Brice Guilbert, one of the two artits who are running the place has a moroccan mother…
While you are in the area, you can enjoy the jazz concert and jam session at the bar called le Chat Pittre, near Chatelain Place.
You want to go out and party? Why not trying The Club: never heard of the place but I see the line up is good… so I hope the place is good too!
Friday, it’s not the first time that I see a place called “Le Lac” in the agenda.. I think it’s a temporary artist run place. I’m not sure actually: I only know that it’s the fourth chapter of an exhibition playing with the concept of the Zodiac…
In the other side of the Canal, you have the Kaaitheater and that’s where you’ll get to know better Brussels as a city thanks to the conferences and debates during the Night of the Knowledge by Brussels Studies!
And now that I have proof that I’m talented and intelligent… Let’s – finally – talk about about sex! It’s an exhibition who will show you the visions of hundreds of people of the male and female sex… I’m sure it’s surprising! It’s at the Bunker Cine theater, an alternative venue in Saint-Josse.
Le Quai, is the place where a collective of artists are working. They also have a space where some events can be held… And this week it’s a party: The Last Days of Techno. And the music is … well yes, Techno !
If you’re looking for a more groovy experience, you should definitely go to Le Cercle, in Sablon, where the Soul Therapy os given by Bernard Dobeleer himself!
On Saturday, let’s visit Schaerbeek! There’s a brand new alternative art space who’s opening its door : Clovis XV and there’s a group exhibition “Confort Moderne”.
Then, you can go to another cat place; le Chat Borgne for the concert of Nicolas Ankidounov and the band Sages Comme des Sauvages.
At night, there’s a Cumbia party in Saint-Josse : Rebel Up is inviting Argentinan Dj Chancha Via Circuito and the Dj’s behind the Paris based parties Muevelo!
If you’re into minima sounds, then you should go to the 5 years of the Elektromagnetik party. The guests are – among others – the Italian Dust, from a label called Looney Moon and the British Dirty Saffi from Bomshankamusic label.
On Sunday, after the market in Flagey, why not go and visit the new art gallery Suzanne in the Vleurgatsteenweg? They are the host of Ed&Cie an micro/independant editor and they are inviting the public to discover this scene.
For the kids: the Festival Zéro18 will let them know about their rights as children… Check the program online.
In the area of the Canal, at Alleedukaai, Costik, a street art association have asked EyesB to choose 7 artists to paint some murals. It’s the second edition of this event!
And on Monday, we’ll go back to School… at the ERG, we’ll go deeper in the discovery of the edition world with Oral Site: a digital plateform for artists publication.
And finally, if you understand a bit of French you should definitely join me at the Aventure cinéma: it’s the avant-première of the movie made by one of my friends, Stéphanie Paillet. The movie is called “Démarche” and it’s a walk that she did following a girl who’s dropping out of her life, school, family and walked to Compostelle: 3 months and 1500 kilometers on the road…. The entry is free by the way!
So let’s be moving, running, walking to discover this program for real!
